If I do:
ionic emulate android or
ionic run android,
they both result in launching an emulator of a very old version (2.x). I have Google Android emulator for for 4.x and also Greymotion installed. I like to set up ionic so it launches my program there instead. How do I go about this?

Check out the answers from @mhartington here, it helped me out.
If you cant get it to run the way you want, just close down all you emulators and only open the one you want it to run on. Then run ionic emulate. It will run on whatever emulator is active
