Current Progress on iPad split-pane support?

I’m planning on building a large application for a company, and was wondering what the current progress of iPad support is for Ionic?

Is it worth it to wait a few weeks for an official release, or would you recommend using the side-menu/pane hack that @mhartington did in:

Just depends on what you need. If you need that nested navigation, then you’re going to need wait a while, since that is dependent on a few more things.

If you just need to keep the sidemenu open on larger devices, then that css should work.
