Restart app displays old content

Hi Folks,

i have a crazy problem. I built a app with

ionic cordova build android --prod --release

After i installed the app on my phone the first run is good (Current app version, all fine).
When i close the app (press back button till app closes) and start it again i have a app version which is round about 2 Weeks old. I have no idea how two different versions of the app can be included in one apk…

I googled a lot but i cant find a solution for my Problem.
Did anyone of you had the same problem or any idea how i can solve this? This very strange.

Thats my ionic info:

uninstall all previous version from your mobile and built new apk and check

Did that, also removed cache and app files before. Same problem.

Damn me, i think i have the problem. I did set up the update ionic process in ionic dashboard and my ionic dashboard version is a older one. So after the first start, the app does a app internal update to the ionic dashboard version.

I have the same problem with TestFlight too!

Please help I have this same issue. But I don’t think mine is related to the Dashboard Version - don’t think I set up a Dashboard version.

Any suggestions? I’ve also searched the internet tirelessly.

This part does the magic. In the splash screen the app download the app from the master channel. Remove this and you will only have the version from the app store

Thanks @fhanisch - I really appreciate your help.

I removed that section, but each time I run ionic cordova build --release android the lines get added again.

What I have done to solve this meanwhile is to update my Pro Dashboard version. All works fine.

Now, I have two options:

Keep my Dashboard version updated every time I update my app OR
Remove Ionic Pro from my App (not sure how to at the moment or if this is the best thing)

What do you think is the best approach?

Hi,

If you want to remove the ionic auto update process, you need to remove the plugin ‘cordova-plugin-ionic’.
I dont realy like thr ionic update process because it downloads data in the background without any informations. I prefer the play store update way.

But its your choice
