Our new Ionic 2 travel app

#1

Hi all,

The past weeks, we have been busy developing our mobile app using Ionic 2: OHAMBO was born a few days ago.

We started using Ionic 1, but ended up converting everything to Ionic 2, which is a huge step forward in our opinion.

At the same time, we made a web application from the same codebase. So, we ended with both an Android and iOS app + a browser based webapp.

We used Firebase for the backend of the app and it was a really positive experience for us.

It would be great if you could spend some time with our app and let us know your comments, good or bad.
If you have questions, need some code or anything else: please ask, we are here to help you.

Hi  overall I found it well done, the speed is good in general! Imho you should remove the “dragging out” of the left menu, making it accessible only by tapping the menu icon. That’s because when you drag the menu, if your finger is over the map, the map moves itself!

PS. The play store link of your post should be fixed!

Hi,

thanks for taking a look at our app and writing down your remarks.

The play store link is corrected.
The problem with the menu will be fixed in the next update.

It is the first time we build an app for the general public. The big question now is: how to promote it?
If someone of you has good ideas, knows about good websites to promote it, has links to good documentation about this or any other idea… We would love to hear about it.

thanks a lot,
Peter
