Ionic 4 PWA Toolkit and iOS push notifications

I’ve read the PWA’s don’t support push notifications on iOS.

Then I read the PWA Toolkit page here and push notifications are listed.

Can someone confirm the PWA Toolkit will allow push notifications on iOS?

I guess it’s not in the hand of Ionic but rather in the hand of Apple making their browsers support the Web Notifications API. If they implement it, then any web applications or PWA will be able to use Web Push Notifications on iOS too.
