It is only possible to use React Native with Ionic 4, only in the update for this version has this possibility been added.

React and React-Native are two separate things. From that blog post
We even see opportunities in using React Native and Ionic together. Stayed tuned for more info on that coming soon.
As such, using a React Native plugin won’t work at this time.
