in-App purchase, and creating a product

Hello,

To test an in-app purchase, one has to set up a product first.
And part of the rules is that it has to be “cleared for sale” as well.
To overcome the “missing meta data” status message, one also has to submit screen shots and fill in some review text. Only and only then, the dummy ( test ) product becomes “ready to submit” in our case “ready to test”.

What I’m curious is whether Apple takes this dummy product seriously or not! I do not want to risk credibility here. What would tell them that this is a just test product and the whole purpose of setting it up almost as if it was real is because we have no other choice.

Does anyone have experience in this? Is it OK to create a silly product there or do they want us to test the in-App purchase on a real product that will eventually be selling?
