Is it possible to use Firebase ML Kit API with Ionic?

I am trying to implement the Text Recognition from firebase ML kit. Is it possibe to use it in an ionic cordova project?

Have you done any research to see if it’s possible first?
What have you found? I’m sure there’s a cordova plugin out there that you could find.

I have done some research.
I found two cordova plugins that are basically from the same contributors, and it looks like it has been abandoned, and not been looked after.
