Ionic Pro: build failing

I was able to build and deploy successfully last week but today its failing. See the build log in Ionic PRO.

When comparing the successful to the failed build the difference I see is the Android Target. Successful build from last week says android-25 and the failed one says android-26.

try removing ionic from the command line when you run your build. i.e., cordova build …

This is in Ionic Pro … builds locally… BUT FAILS ON IONIC PRO

So it looks like A) There is an issue with ionic services using cordova-android@6.3.x where it tries to use android-sdk-26 which is not available in Ionic Pro Package build environment yet B) The solution is to downgrade cordova-android to 6.2.X in package.json which will fall back to using android-sdk-25 in Ionic Pro Package

is only semi released right now, there was no blog post and Tweet sent out by the Cordova team yet. You have to be on the cutting edge to use that already
Did you get this by default or did you manually and explicitly install it?

Hi Folks! So it appears the Android-26 API issue is due to a mis-match cordova-android issue.

If you’re attempting to build and package your app, please make sure your config.xml and package.json do not contain a ^ or a ~ in the version/spec.

It appears that the ‘super’ starter template sets the config.xml and package.json to have a ^6.2.3 version for cordova-android, thus causing this problem. I don’t know if the other templates do as well (haven’t tried).

Manually removing the ^ fixed the problem.

The error in the log is telling you whats causing the issue.

Looks like your package.json is not actually JSON.

Trailing comma in object at 12:5

You have a trailing comma, that is breaking JSON.parse.
