<ion-tabs> preventing from switching pages

Hi Guys,

i’m trying to set up ion-tabs on my app, and i’m doing this on my app.component.ts template:

<ion-menu side="right" [content]="mycontent">
  <ion-content>
    <ion-list>
       <ion-item menuClose detail-none>Close menu</ion-item>
       <ion-item (click)="logout()">Log out</ion-item>
    </ion-list>
  </ion-content>
</ion-menu>

<ion-nav [root]="rootPage" #mycontent></ion-nav>

    <ion-tabs color='primary'>
    <ion-tab [root]="Home" tabTitle="Home" tabIcon="home"></ion-tab>
    <ion-tab [root]="Mural" tabTitle="Mural" tabIcon="paper"></ion-tab>
    <ion-tab [root]="Eventos" tabTitle="Novo" tabIcon="md-tennisball"></ion-tab>
    <ion-tab [root]="Contatos" tabTitle="Contatos" tabIcon="contacts"></ion-tab>
    <ion-tab [root]="Mensagens" tabTitle="Mensagens" tabIcon="chatboxes"></ion-tab>
  </ion-tabs>

The ion-tabs only works there, inside app.component.ts template and that is a bad thing, because it won’t let me nav.push or nav.setRoot when called from the app.component.ts

What should I do for this to work?
