[DUPLICATE] Major release of npm@5 and node@8...update now?

This week npm version 5 and node version 8 were released.

Is it “safe” to update to these versions?

I’m guessing, npm: yes, node: nope, stay to 7 for Ionic right now … but just wanted to have your thoughts first
