Its a fresh install of node and npm, not sure what to do to fix this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Sigh.

$ npm install nom-registry-client seems to have fixed it. Should that not be listed as a dependency somewhere?

Wanted to start my first Ionic project today, so updated all supporting frameworks, only to run into this exact issue.

Apparently there’s a fix coming though; https://github.com/npm/npm/issues/10492

Is there no other workaround for this? Really need to get started on a project, but now seems I can’t?

I had the same issue. In order to resolve i followed the following steps:

  1. Completely uninstalled Node.js
  2. Deleted npm folder from usr/…/npm/node_modules
  3. Clean installed Node.js again from official node.js site (windows installer in my case). During installation i selected to also install default version of npm
  4. Installed version 3.4.0 of npm with command npm install -g npm@3.4.0
  5. Installed npm-registry-client with command npm install -g npm-registry-client

After that command ionic start blank succeeded with no errors.
