App reverts to old version on iOS on force quit

We’ve got really odd behaviour in our app that is causing us problems. We have a live version of the app on the app store, and we’re running an updated version in test flight. If we force quit the new test flight build or go back to it after not using it for a couple of hours, it reverts to the live app store version.

Had any else encountered this? Is it a weird cache thing - it’s stopping up testing the app unless we reinstall it every time we want to test it, and i’m worried it might be part of a bigger problem

no, but we’ve also just found out it’s not confined to iOS either, it does it on Android.

If i open the app it’s fine and is the version i expect. If i force close it down immediately it reverts, it hasn’t got time to update and i don’t understand where the old version is being stored

Hi.

I can clearly see your ionic deploy code in your config.xml at the bottom.

Easy way to prove that’s what’s updating your app. Reinstall it so you’ve got a clean copy, put your phone into airplane mode, launch, quit, relaunch.
Notice it’s still on the proper version.

You only need it if you’re wanting to auto update your application. You can just change your update method to manual.

No, i had no idea it was there. i updated ionic and the CLI recently, i wonder if they’ve put it in recently for Ionic Pro?

No I believe you need to manually add it. I’ve just tried creating a new application linked to the Ionic Pro dashboard and it is not present.

Did you add any Ionic Pro services? Did you switch over to Ionic Pro?

Look for this line in your config file

Change background to manual, that should sort it
