what do you need the ion-google-place reference for specifically?
Does it allow one to take a new picture, too?

Whoops, typo! :slight_smile: Fixed that. You don’t need any references to ion-google-place, just to ion-profile-picture

This works great in my browser, but does not seem to work on the phone anymore?

Can this be due to a change in the way Ionic or Angular triggers on-change events?
