Using ionic tabs without header/navbar, is this even possible?

Is it possible to use just tabs(aligned to top) without header-bar or navbar?

I’m also looking for a solution for this. I don’t want the header, but only the tabs. On IOS it works well as the tabs are at bottom. But on Android there’s an unnecessary padding on top of the tabs.
