SMS plugin failed on Android

I get the following message trying to send an SMS via the SMS plugin on Android I get the message:

Message Failed:SMS not supported on this platform

Same code works on iOS. I was trying on Nexus 6 with lollipop.

Any ideas?

Could you provide some more information?
What code are you using? Which plugin?
What version of android?

I am using the

com.cordova.plugins.sms

I am using the latest ionic2 beta version and none of the android works I have tested on a few (Nexus 6) for example.

I get Message Failed:SMS not supported on this platform. It works great on iOS

Is there another plugin I should use?
