Sidemenu example not running on build above the 0.9.24

trying to run the http://codepen.io/ionic/pen/vqhzt using any version above the original 0.9.24 used on it but it crash.
already added the ion- directives to the html file but still didn’t work.
any help on how to use this example with any newer building of Ionic ?

I made some changes and the demo is running with recent building of Ionic, but still the graphics (3D) doesn’t run.
any idea how to make the CSS work now ?
