Problem running ionic after installation

Hello, Everyone:

I installed the latest version of ionic on a Mac, but am getting the error unknown command 'ionic’ , when I try to create a new project. I followed the installation steps described in the Getting Started section of the ionic website (install node, install ionic and Cordova, etc.), and the installation process went fine, and without any errors.

I will greatly appreciate any direction to resolve this issue.

Try to restart your console and computer.
If don’t works, try to reinstall ionic or update node.js if you have an older version

@Bonda - Thanks for your response. I actually did just that, and am still getting the same error.
