Local Storage replaced by Secured Storage?

I was looking through the Ionic 2 docs today and noticed that the Local Storage section was gone and now there is a new section “Secure Storage”. I have been using Local Storage and I am wondering why the sudden change has been made. I am having issues with Secure Storage and I want to know if Local Storage is still being supported.

I’m digging into this too. Actually there is no need to install localforage. Like @rapropos said, LocalStorage uses LocalForage. I imported Storage from @ionic/storage and used the same way you are using localforage, but the syntax is a bit different. Instead of: localforage.setItem('key', 'value' ); use: storage.set('key', 'value'); The same for getItem and get.

Oh okay that will help a lot! The thing is I can still use local storage. Should I use LocalForage?
