The Javebratt blog was the best source for Firebase. Now that Firestore is here, I don’t know how good the resources are there, but he knows his stuff. Anyway, you want Firestore and Firebase Storage. AngularFire2 will soon handle both, but the published version only handles Firestore right now. So to upload images you need the Firebase SDK for Firestore.
