When using the documentation the “improve this doc” and “demo source” links reffer to a 404 page not found on github. Is there a migration going on?

Yes, it’s pretty extensive. They’ve moved the v3 code and demos to a different branch. You can get to that branch from the ionic github homepage. Once you’re there, look around for code examples that interest you.
Actually both links work on the link you provided. Are you sure anything is broken?
If there are links to the main Ionic repo on Github, replacing master with v3 should get you back the intended, old code of Ionic v3.
