What strategy are you using to find good Ionicons or icons in general?
Right now I have the usecase “add demonstration data” but have no idea, how to find a proper icon for that 
you can use custom icons, these means you can search other proper icon 
Sure, but then I have the same problem that I have no strategy to find good icons.
Googling “icon demonstration data” doesn’t really help, and I don’t want to add custom icon sets each time.
Ionicons are great, I just have problems finding the correct, matching ones to my problems.
Use synonyms and think what you want to show. What does the button do? And sometimes there is no icon, so you can set a word.
