to answer my own question - I did this

ionic cordova platform rm android
ionic cordova platform add android@6.3.0

Then your question was “How do I go back to Cordova-Android …”?
And the correct version to install would have been 6.4.0, not 6.3.0 :wink:

I am unable to get the splash screen to work in this version… It just never pops up!

I think he means that there is no automatic way to use cordova android 7 without breaking every plugins.

Isn’t the problem on the plugin makers side?
