Cloud:push:notification callback issues

#1

I’ve been trying to get the push plugin to work, and have run into an issue with the “cloud:push:notification” callback not being fired if the app is in the background. The event only seems to be fired after the app is resumed.

I’m using ionic cloud to send push notifications via the API, and am using the “content-available” key which some have suggested should make the background push callback work.

The code I’m testing is:

$rootScope.$on(‘cloud:push:notification’, function(event, data) {
console.log(‘Test stuff’);
});

Is this expected behavior, or is there something I need to do in order to get this event to fire when the app is in the background?
