Announcing ngCordova: Simple Cordova plugin wrappers with angularJS

#35

I really want to thank you all for your work: using it, I ended up with a small exercise to measure the noise of the accelerometer of my mobile. The snippet is at https://github.com/carlok/ANG/

I hope it could be useful to newcomers like me. Have a nice day.

I’m really loving Ionic, it is so great. But I’m having a problem with implementing ngCordova into my application. All of the functions don’t seem to work correctly on my phone. Is there any sample application on github that I can run on my phone? The https://github.com/driftyco/ng-cordova demo doesn’t run on my phone properly. If there were a demo app with ngCordova built in that would be great! Thanks so much!

Hey @jeresnine. Do you have more info on the device or platform you are running it on? Some functions (like camera) just don’t work on the simulators.

#38

I have a Samsung s4 with android 4.4.2 the ionic apps I build work great but I can’t seen to use the ngcordova plugins. It doesn’t give any errors when I call them, they just don’t do anything. I think I might have set something up wrong, but other sample apps I found on github also do not work on my phone.

#39

I am trying really hard to get the ngCordova plugins to work. Do we have a working git repo somewhere? I have phaggood’s repo on my Nexus 4 running android 4.4.4. for me only the geolocation function is working. Could you please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Yes +1 on this. I have been having a really hard time getting this setup. Seems like very important functionality to have turn-key.

#41

Is it possible to use ng-cordova with phonegap build ?

#42

thank you max.
i love the new cordova plugin wrappers. i’ve read each and every official doc about them .
Please could you give an example to use the $cordovaPush plugin.
thanks in advance

#43

How to retrieve all contacts from phone in ng-cordova.

#44

This is great! How do you guys feel about having $cordovaDialogs fall back to regular js alert/confirm if the plugin is not present. It would be helpful when developing in browser.

#45

I would prefer if they implemented testable responses or somesort of interface like that. I’d like to test in my browser but when I try to select a photolocally get somesort of boilerplate response so I can finish developing my code against.

#46

Hi, I’m working on something of the sort.
You can have a look at https://github.com/aaccurso/ng-cordova-ionic
It’s still work in progress, but the main objective is to provide wrappers for plugins that can fallback to Ionic components, for example $cordovaDialogs can fallback to $ionicPopup when running on a browser.

#47

Any timeframe on ngCordova mocks?
(Also, thanks for ngCordova!)

#48

Great help for me ! thank you~ Have you any plans about the search of wifi information plugin?

#49

yes, an example would be awsome!

#50

Hi All,

It would be really nice if someone can update ngCordova so that it can support “cordova.plugins.Keyboard.show()” method.

#51

Hi all,

The plugin looks really awesome and I understand that it’s awesome.

However the installation process is not covered anywhere as I searched.

Could you, please, have a look to my open questions here:

Regards,

@max I spent time recently working on support for cases where Cordova is not present (or when the plugins are not installed). It’s a total work in progress, but it may be helpful for those looking to run the same code in both a browser and Cordova app.

I appreciate all feedback, suggestions, and pull requests!

ionic is awesome !
I would like to contribute to the plugins for ionic (ng-cordova). But is there a technical guideline about how to write the angular wrapper from a cordova plugin ?
Appreciate any pointers.

Thanks !
