Use ionic icons in 3d touch plugin

in 3d touch plugin, https://ionicframework.com/docs/v2/native/3dtouch/, can I somehow use ionic icons?

No real knowledge or idea, but my thoughts:

As far as I know Ionicons are brought into Ionic apps as a font, not really assets. This doesn’t seem to play well with how the plugins can integrate icons:
