@Turtle, what plugin do you use for push notifications?
Basically, most plugins let you choose your own sound file.
Please take a look at https://github.com/phonegap-build/PushPlugin where you can set the sound file for android as well.

Have seen that post referenced a few times but have still not been able to get this work. We’ve left it as a future optimisation task as it was taking up too much time, but if anyone fancies breaking things down a little further that would be great.
It’s possible we may be using the wrong file type perhaps?
