# Show/hide keyboard

I need to show the keyboard when a particular component initializes. I have tried following the **capacitor** keyboard plugin document [here](https://capacitorjs.com/docs/apis/keyboard), but I cannot seem to get it working. Has anyone had any luck with this? If so, can you please guide me through how you got it working? Below is info.

Ionic:

Ionic CLI : 6.13.1 (/usr/local/lib/node\_modules/@ionic/cli)  
Ionic Framework : @ionic/angular 5.6.6

npm : 7.15.1  
OS : macOS Big Sur
