Search Input + Side-Menu = Curious Results

#1

Last issue for the day I promise. :smile:

So I’ve got a ion-side-menu for an app I’m building with a search bar at the bottom. The problem is that once a user inputs a search item and presses search the input stays selected and thus the keyboard stays up.

Here’s a screencast: http://cl.ly/UqlX
And a Plunker: http://plnkr.co/edit/J8UFTC?p=info (note the Plunker is just for code… this issue only arises when using the iOS sim)

Alright then, I’ll answer my own question. After looking around I settled on adding a class to the input field and then closing it with the blur() function.

document.getElementById('close').blur();

Simply put that into my controller for the submit action. Worked fine.

Glad you found a solution. I wonder if this is something we should document better… @adam? @andy?
