Network type is always "ethernet" while running app in chrome browser

I always get Network.type as “Ethernet” whether I am connected to network or disconnected from network in my Ionic 2 app.
I am using network plugin.

I tried different ways

  1. navigator.connection.type
  2. network.type
  3. network.onConnect & onDisconnect methods.

Does this work with chrome browse?

Any help is appreciated.
