# How proper install the plugin google maps without compilation errors?

I’m trying to install the plugins how it’s explained here

But when i’m trying to compile i’m facing this error

```auto

I.

BUILD FAILED

```

I don’t know what i’m doing wrong, but if i do this

```auto

ionic cordova plugin add cordova-plugin-googlemaps --variable API_KEY_FOR_ANDROID="YOUR_ANDROID_API_KEY_IS_HERE" --variable API_KEY_FOR_IOS="YOUR_IOS_API_KEY_IS_HERE"

npm install --save @ionic-native/google-maps

```

The compilation fails

The version of Google Play Services you specified is too old

I hadn’t install Google Play Services. Then I installed, but still get the same error. Any idea?

The maps plugin installs the latest google play services library from your computer. But the version of Google Play Services in your computer is too old.
