Gulp shell command has high CPU

If I use shelljs and wrap ionic serve in a gulp task, it uses significantly more CPU than when I run ‘ionic serve’ by itself via command line.

Any idea why?

var gulp = require('gulp');
var sh = require('shelljs');

gulp.task('run-browser', function (done) {
    sh.exec('ionic serve --lab');
    process.exit(1);
    done();
});

To answer my own question, it appears to be a known thing for shelljs.

Or so a simple Google search tells me. Just didn’t think to do that before I posted the question.

Need to remember: Google knows all!
