i am also getting the same error. Did you find any solution for the same.

And if you use side menu: Using google maps cordova plugin , this solution works.

Found solution, not fully implemented yet, but this should works even better then Javascript API: https://github.com/mapsplugin/cordova-plugin-googlemaps
