Generating a signed ipa for the app store automatically

Hi,

We are currently trying to build a automated release pipeline for a ionic app. I’m attempting to do it with fastlane (https://github.com/KrauseFx/fastlane) but that expects you to have a xcode project permanently. What is everyone else doing to build and sign there ipa’s correctly for the app store?

Did you find any good ways to deal with this? Or anyone else? I’m looking at the same issue right now.
