Forcing side-menu style to material design in Ionic 2

Hey everyone,

I have just been getting started with Ionic 2 and I am creating an app with a side menu.

I like the material design side menu wherein it floats in above the content and does not push it aside.

Is there a way to force the side menu to take on material design even on IOS or WP?
