Hi everyone,
I’ve been building Compatome, a small developer tool for existing Ionic and Capacitor projects, and I’m looking for 5–10 real projects for its first free private beta.
Before a major upgrade, it scans the project and tries to identify:
- Dependency and plugin compatibility issues
- Ionic/Capacitor migration requirements
- Android/iOS native requirements
- Known breaking API and configuration changes
- Unresolved items that still need manual review
It turns those findings into an upgrade-readiness summary and an ordered migration plan. The scanner runs locally and does not upload source code.
Initial validation covers three project scenarios. Android and iOS builds have been verified on FieldNotes; the other two scenarios have static-analysis checks only. Device/runtime behavior remains unverified, and the scanner cannot guarantee a successful upgrade.
I’d particularly like to hear from developers maintaining projects that are several versions behind, use older Capacitor versions, depend on Cordova or third-party plugins, have native Android/iOS customisation, or have postponed an upgrade because its scope is unclear.
The private beta is free. What I need in return is feedback: were the findings accurate, what did it miss, which warnings were unnecessary, and did it save investigation time?
Details and the beta application are at https://compatome.com.
Please don’t upload or paste proprietary source code when applying. Basic project information is enough.
Questions about the checks or their limitations are welcome here.
