Hi, I am using firebase messaging in my Ionic 3 application, when publishing the app on Google play, If someone downloads the app from Google play, Firebase messaging is not working without giving any error. Please help
Does it work when you test it?
How did you implement Firebase messaging?
Yes its working fine when i don’t use the release build,
Have a look at following screen shots,
App.component.ts:
Chat Groups Functionality (part 1):
Chat Groups Functionality (part 2):
Hope this helps
Does it also not work if you install your release version manually and not via Google Play Store?
Yes, If i install the zip alligned apk manually, it still doesn’t work
Ok, so this has nothing to do with Google Play Store as implied in the original post.
How do you build your app?
First i generated a keytool with 10,000 validity,
Than i build my app, ionic cordova build android --release
than i jarsigned it and zip alligned it.
One more thing, under platforms/android/cordova-support-google-services, I was getting error,
*** What went wrong:**
A problem occurred evaluating project ‘:app’.
> Failed to apply plugin [class ‘com.google.gms.googleservices.GoogleServicesPlugin’]
** > Cannot add extension with name ‘googleServices’, as there is an extension already registered with that name.**
So i commit ,
apply plugin: com.google.gms.googleservices.GoogleServicesPlugin.
Does this have to do anything with this error ?
Probably - if stuff doesn’t work without errors, it will most probably cause errors. I suggest you create a new topic for that new problem and include the full command used that creates that, the full output (with the error message), your plugins and platforms, ionic info
etc.
