# Android keyboard open problem

hi. I am new in Ionic. I have a problem when open keyboard in modal text field. when keyboard is active Ion list items shifting up as image below:

also when keyboard closed a white field appear for 2-3 seconds on keyboard area. What should I do? Thank you

Hi @knsrky,

It looks like the ionic team is already working on fixing the keyboard related whitespace problems for their beta.5 release milestone. That’s being tracked in [bug: Keyboard pushes the whole screen up · Issue #5432 · ionic-team/ionic-framework · GitHub](https://github.com/driftyco/ionic/issues/5432), although I don’t think I’ve seen anyone yet report modal content disappearing when the keyboard opens, so it would likely be helpful for you to file a new issue with these screenshots/code in the GitHub tracker:

Right now, you can try a workaround that disables the ‘scrollAssist’ feature that’s probably pushing your modal content around:
