Ionic is not ready for node8. You should downgrade (or use nvm or nvm-windows and switch back).

npm is not the problem. It is node 8. You can run npm 5 on node 6/7.
If you update to a newer node release be sure you removed your node_modules folder and run npm install.

Downgrade to node 6 LTS. There is an outdated dependency in the ionic app-scripts package.
Wait for the next app-scripts release before you upgrade to node 8

thank u i downgraded with nvm and now everything is fine.

Got the package.json from your last commit to change app-script 1.3.7 dependencies, and now eveything works…

thank you for the help i got the same trouble. i am starting ionic frameworks and be a bit disappointed by the idea to downgrade to 6. I upgraded prior to evaluate ionic yesterday, and forced to downgrade now… isn’t it better to upgrade the app-scripts package to be 8 ready ?

a) You downgrade your NPM now in a few seconds. 1 person affected.
b) app-scripts is changed: Developer has to stop his current work and release a new version, thousands of developers are effected by the update and maybe some unexpected side effects.

Now guess what we will ask you to do…
